Civil War Graves?

Hi, everybody. My great-granduncle, John Higgins, was wounded in action during the battle of Irish Bend, Louisiana, in 1863. He was taken to New Orleans and died of his wounds. He was 18 years old.

I believe he may be buried in Louisiana. He was with the 159th New York Infantry and he had registered in Hudson, NY, where he lived.

Can anyone suggest how I can find his grave? Please let me know. Thank you.

Clare Higgins
