Mark, that's an idea but I don't know if I will ever get around to it. Between school and other research projects (not to mention hunting and fishing), I just don't seem to have time to spend on the Tigers much anymore. However,if LSU Press ever lets Lee's Tigers run out of print, I'll exercise my option to get the copyrights and pitch a new edition to some other press. But I want to be clear that I have no quarrel with LSU Press. They are a top notch outfit and have been wonderful to me over the years. I highly recommend them to anyone considering publishing in the Civil War field. The decision not to do a new edition of Lee's Tigers was purely economic--it would cost them just as much to publish a new edition as it would a new book and the market just wouldn't be there for the new edition to justify the expense.
