Co. I, 7th Mo Cav./Jesse Schoonover

Jesse B. Schoonover enrolled 8-20-1861 in Co B, 22nd Mo.
Inf. and was tranferred 2-28-1862 to Co I, 7th Cav. and
deserted 11-30-1862 at Camp Lyon, Mo. He was a Private.
When his wife applied for pension, she states that
he died from shots received while returning to the regiment
having been absent on sick furlough at Saline Co., Mo. on
June 1862. His wife applied for pension 4-01-1893. One
form included in the pension file has the following
information. Jesse B. treated March 25 to 29/62 and
returned to duty. Sick, Oct. 31/62, absent sick at
Sedalia Mo. since Sept 17/62.
Now my questions. Was Jesse B. in Sedalia Mo. Sept and
Oct.? Were there medical facilities in Sedalia?
If he was returning to duty after Oct.31st. where was
Camp Lyon at? Trying to find what counties he might
have crossed on his way back to Camp Lyon.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Carol
