Fort Pleasant-Fort Weighman

I am researching accounts of Fort Pleasant, orginial called Fort Weightman, near Pine Bluff, Ar., for a National Parks study.

I am looking for first hand accounts, of persons while stationed there.

Fort Pleasant was constructed and garrisoned by Mitchell's 8th Missouri Infantry, Clark's 9th Missouri Infantry, Roberts-Ruffner's Missouri Artillery and Von Phul's Missouri Artillery. That I know of, from February 28th to July 27th?, 1863, during their Defence of the Lower Arkansas River valley.

I have read Capt. Eathan A. Pinnell's Diary Account, "Serving With Honor"by Banasik. I would be greatly appreciate any additional information, that may be available.

Recent discoveries indicate that this site may still exist.

My effort is in attempting to document this fortification and have the it listed with the Arkansas Department of Heritage and the National Parks as a site being important to the Vicksburg Campaign.
