Captain William Mosby

I am looking for info on Captain William Mosby (5th Missouri Cav-Captain Elliott's Co.of Spies and Guides-9th Missouri Cav.) He was captured at Batesville, Arkansas, on April 10,1863 and sent to Ft. Delaware, Del., and then to Point Lookout, Md. for exchange April 29, 1863. He was back in Missouri by August 1863 and is evidently captured sometime that fall. The last record of him tells of his escape from College Military Prison in Springfield, Missouri, on Nov 27, 1863. I am trying to determine if this was the same man who mysteriously shows up in southern Pennsylvania right after the war and years later claims to have been a good friend of Jubal Early and involved in a number of escapades in the Gettysburg and Wilderness campaigns. He also said that he was a cousin of John S. Mosby. In newpapers interviews however, he never mentions any connection to Missouri. I have been trying to put together an article about him, but its been almost impossible to pin down his identity. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
