Are you sure that it took place at Roanoke? the reason I ask is I grew up in Yates and as a young boy all the old timers all said it took place about two miles north northeast of Yates on the banks of silver creek. As a young boy my friends and I used to go up there and find old bullets and stuff. Any info on the battle there thanks ps there were three graveyards within a half a mile that people said were soldiers who were killed there are buryed
