Hi,

Not a subscriber--just came across tis via internet search. Looking for an ancestor who served in the "Home Guard"--presumably too old at 44 to join the army. Do you know of any internet sites I can check to learn about these guys? My ancestor, Carroll Lindsey, was from TN but was in the Aberdeen area (Monroe Co, MS) from at least 1861 to 1865 when I believe he died. (Don't know that his death was related to the war, but at 44 and in 1865 it's worth pursuing!)
