Re: 11th Volunteer Calvary Regiment

The Salina mentioned below, would be my Great,
Great grandmother. Any information on the
people listed below, would be fantastic.

Thank You

Joyce Reynolds-Williams
Salina- Grandma Larsen's mom was married to
Wm. F. Forbis-- her first husband in Eureka
Springs AR but they grew up and lived just across
the border in MO. She grew up in Barry Co.,
and he grew up in Stone Co. which are neighboring
counties. He was 18 when they married on
Dec. 5, 1869 and Salina was 21 yrs. old. He died
before 1875... which means they were married
maybe 5 yrs. when he died. he is buried in the Osa
Cemetery, Osa Twp., Stone Co., MO... from
what I can tell from records, there is no death date
on his tombstone... His family was listed in
1860 on the census records for Stone Co. in
Washington Twp. His father was William Forbis
aged 39 (b. ca 1821 in KY) who was a farmer and
his mother's name was Nancy aged 30 (b. ca
1830 in IN) who was a housewife. They had other
children besides William... John was 2-3 yrs.
older that William shown as aged 11 yrs. in the
census (b. ca 1849 in MO); and Elizabeth aged !
2 yrs (b. ca 1857-58 in MO). Stone County is down
southwest of you... I would like to know if you
can find that cemetery and see if you can find a
death date... maybe even find an obituary for
him... maybe find some of his family members
there.
