My cousin and I have been looking for some records of Athan McDowell Ballew joining the Confederate forces at the Battle of Lexington. He was captured not too long after that and was sent to the prison at Rock Island Illinois. He joined with a friend with the last name of Hininger. We have no clue as to what unit or anything except it was said that he served under Sterling Price. So that kind of leaves the field wide open about who he served with. Thank you for your help.
