Co. B , 8th Mo. Inf / Freemans. Cavalry

My gr gr grandfather was Richard Elijah Clark. Though his home was in Randolph County Arkansas he joined the Confederate army August 7, 1862 in Eleven Points Mo. He served in the 8th Mo. Inf., Co. B and some time later is found to be in Freemans' Cavalry under Col. Love. He was captured October 30,1864 in Fairplay Mo. and sent to Rock Island Ill. ariving there November 21,1864. On March 14,1864 he was transferred to Point Lookout Md.I can't find records where he was released for exchange but it is noted on his pow record that he was. He was paroled by Maj. Gen. E.R.S. Canby May 18,1865 from the Granada Mississippi Hospital. He returned to Arkansas after the war and died in 1878.
Any information on these units would be appreciated and would like to coraspond with any one who is reserching these units.
