Re: Bush Smith (Anderson?) of Texas.

Hi Glynda. While my research into William C. Anderson confirms much of what you state in this message, it clearly shows his birthdate to be Feb 7, 1840 and not 1841. Even his grave marker in Staley Cemetery gives the 1840 date. Are you saying that Brown County's William C. Anderson was the one who married Bush Smith? If you have documentation to that effect, it would obviously contradict all of the sources I have read that say that Bloody Bill Anderson was the one who married Bush Smith in Sherman, Texas. Needless to say, that would go a long way in unravelling the mystery about Bloody Bill Anderson...at least in my mind. I still have to go on with the theory that William C. Anderson was, in fact, Bloody Bill Anderson based on what I have uncovered so far including the interview with Henry C. Fuller in which William C. Anderson stated that he was the famous Bloody Bill Anderson and went on, in detail, about the fight in Missouri in which he was supposedly killed and his escape to Brown County, Texas. I definitely hope you will post the orbituary for William C. Anderson here so we all can learn as much as possible. Also, I am dying to find out what Bloody Bill's supposed middle initial "T" stood for. I, like you, want to learn the whole truth about this mystery and I sure appreciate all the valuable information you have shared with us.
