Does anyone have information concerning Joshua Hobbs Company, 2nd North East Missouri Cavalry, C.S.A.? The regiment was commanded by Colonel Cyrus Franklin. My wife's great great great grandfather was 2nd Lt. Samuel Ewalt of this company. All I have so far is that this unit was part of Colonel John Porter's effort to regain North East Missouri in the summer of 1862, it raided the town of Canton, then was routed at Kirksville. Any biographical or military history would be appreaciated. Thank you.
