Re: Arthur McCoy
In Response To: Arthur McCoy ()

if i may add my tidbit,,,it is possible that arthur died in the beginning of 1874, how he died??? i read a letter written by my great uncle, son to leo (b. 1871), aurthur's third son. in the letter he asked his mother (sylvia) about her father-in-law. she responded by saying that he died from exposure trying to elude the authorities. my great uncle dated his death in the year 1874 tho no family member has concrete proof. altho most family stories to agree on one thing, that arthur abandoned his family in or around the mid 1870's. the 1880 census shows his wife, louisa, as a widow. his last son, eugene, was born in 1873. aruthur's wife remarried in 1883. she was a staunch catholic, so she would not have married had arthur still been living (outlaw or no). i am still going thru records my great uncle compiled and collected from his father and and grandmother.
