Re: Bartholomew Heifner

The family's understanding of Bartholomew's two marriages is that Minerva Grissom and Mary Jane "Polly Hockensmith were sisters. After Polly died he married Minerva Grissom and I am uncertain if she was living already in Randolph County or he returned to Shelby County, In. to get her.
It is my understanding that the three younger children belong to Minerva and older children to Mary "Polly".

Family history states that Bartholomew's father, Conrad Heifner and his brother Peter both migrated to Jessamine County, Ky. from either Pa or Md. as the family resided in both of those states at one time or another. Their father was Albertus Heffner, the Immigrant

Conrad then moved his family to Shelby County,In where Conrad and his wife and some of the rest of this family are buried. Only Bartholomew of Conrad's family and the Jacob Hockensmith group came to Randolph.
