I have both books and would recommend both to the reader who wishes to understand this part of the history of the War. Leslie's is vividly detailed on the most interesting parts of Quantrill's war and apparently thoroughly researched. Peterson's will allow to understand the motivation and the lift of the partisan soldier in a personal way. It is a most emotional read. They are both very important books.
