It would seem that to "create an awareness of the facts", one would need to keep in perspective that there were about 4 million African-American slaves, there were about 200,000 African-Americans who served in the USCT, and there were a very very few African-Americans who appear to have voluntarily served in arms for the South. These few are very interesting to study to try and understand their motivations. However, I don't think it is a fair representation to suggest that there were any more than a very curious few Black men in arms for the Southern Confederacy.
