Sharon,

You wouldn't happen to know of any Missouri Horn/Horne married to a Virginia Adeline Hoyle? (sp. of Hoyle may vary.) They were a young couple at start of war.

John Russell turned up a Francis H. Horn that was supposed to be the spouse, but he survived the war, while Virginia's husband was executed by guerrillas. She is my g-g grandmother, and her second husband Jacob Ayers Hoover is my g-g grandfather.

Some of the confusion might come from Virginia being one of four sets of twins of Solomon Hoyle. I suspect the wrong Horn was listed. Francis H. had a brother William J. that I'm wondering about. Both are sons of Dr. Samuel Horn of Cedar County.

Virginia and Horn had one daughter, Mary Frances born Sept. 2, 1860, who seems to have taken the Hoover name.
