John Herrin was a Pvt. in Poindexter's Battalion Missouri Cavalry, no Company affliation listed.

From this, one might believe the command dissolved after Poindexter's capture in Sept. '62.

Your next best bet is to obtain his service record file which MAY identify where he died. You can obtain his records via a service on this message board.
