I have enjoyed reading your letters and your forum entries.
I examined the names you listed against the online military service records at http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/soldiers and found no indication that any of these men rode back to MO from the Confederate Army with Lieutenants Welch and Rider in September/October 1863. I confess that it is entirely possible that some of them did just that, but what little is recorded of their war experiences in that archive does not tell me that. I recognized some of the names as men who served the southern cause as guerrillas earlier and/or after September 1863 through March 1864 when Welch and Rider's men operated in west-central Missouri. If you haven't already, you may wish to look up these names in the above online website, as there is some information possibly of use to you there for most of the names on your list.
