MSG Uniforms

I'm not a reenactor, so I'm not looking for "whatever they could beg, borrow and steal" as an answer... Though what the individual soldier had to wear is interesting, I'm looking for what MSG officers were to have worn per regulations. My questions are concerning the actual uniforms of the Missouri State Guard as seen in real photos of actual Confederate veterans in 1861-1862. There is a fairly common photograph of Gen. M. Jeff Thompson (see below), and I'd like to know what color the uniform really was, what color are the collar, sleeves, etc? Was this the standard uniform? Did it change? What was the regulation uniform of the Missouri State Guard? Did they match Confederate uniforms at some point and did the sleeves/collars change in color like regular Confederate uniforms depending on the branch of service? Any and all help on this is greatly appreciated. My great-great-grandfather served as a Lieutenant in Co. A, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Division, MSG. After the disbanding in 1862 he served as a Captain under M. Jeff Thompson. Thank you in advance for your help!
