Mo SOS card has him killed by Bushwackers March 30, 1862 12 miles outside of Cassville. There was a George Mueller/Miller single never married (explains lack of pension application info), supt of schools Dallas County, born 1833 that might fit. Some on line sorces just list his death as april 1862, some list it at Pea Rdige, some just list killed in civil war 1862.

This could be a tough nut to crack. The name is very familiar and common and I found at least 3 other George Millers who were 1st Lts. from Missouri alone. May need to scrounge around in Unit histories to see if there is a hint as to who he was or what happened to body after being shot, ie sent someplace , buried on the spot, etc...
