Hello -
did some reading in my CSA books (such as they are) last night.
I noticed there is a discrepancy upon what Sifakis and Crute say re where Greene's 3rd MO Cavalry was active.
I looks like Sifakis having Greene's 3rd MO Cavalry taking part in the Atlanta and Nashville campaigns is a mistake. Most sources seem to agree that Greene's 3rd MO Cavalry was active in the Trans-Mississippi and ultimately Price's 1864 raid of 1864.
Is there a Greene's 3rd MO Cavalry guru out there who can tell me which counties (both MO and AR) Co. K might have been recrutied from?
Also, how detailed are the CSRs for Greene's 3rd MO Cavalry; is there any chance they might gave age, home area, etc. or are they pretty sketchy in nature???
Oh yeah, almost forgot -- did Colton Greene REALLY look like Josef Stalin ???????
:-)
thanks again,
y.v.o.s.,
