Some questions regarding the Border War.

1. I am trying to get a handle on the magnitude of the arson in the jayhawking raids of '61 through spring of '62. I know (or think I know) that Osceloa's population was about 3,000, that Dayton was about 50 homes, that someone on top of Bruushy Knob near Kingsville estimated 150 homes on fire one night. How big was Papinsville? Morristwon? Others? Any estimates of the total number of people burned out in that inital jayhawking period? Suggested sources or references?

2. Later in the war, who did Ewing use to enforce Order No. 11? I have read that is was "Kansans", I have read it was "red-legs", I have read that detectives were used. What specific units of Ewing's command were involved? Suggested sources or references?
