Re: William Lotspeach - Quantrill Guerrilla

Mr Russell,

I have come back to this posting several times this morning. It is one of the few mentions I can find on the Web about the Cass County Home Guard. I see that George Lotspeich was killed before the 12/24/61 skirmish. Both of these were before the fight between Quantrill and the 1st Iowa Cavalry. William must have been with Quantrill by that time. I suspect that you know that Sandy Lowe was a Captain in the Cass County Home Guard, so he certainly could have had something to do with it.

Thanks.
