My McFerrin and Porter ancestors are buried at Reid Cemetery. This is way back off the road, near the corner of 199 and South Morrow (at the head of Eight Mile Creek). That is about the area my Porter ancestors lived, as well as Jackson Burton McFerrin, who was murdered around 1863 (before the Lawrence Raid). The older McFerrins had lived on Sugar Creek, near Dayton. I am sure there are many descendents of Judge Burton Litton McFerrin and Nancy Orr still living in the general area. Hwy 2 is a bit north of where Jackson Benton McFerrin's home was burned. Most of the homes in Cass County were burned after Gen Ewing's Generl Order # 11.
