John: Thanks for the kind words regarding my book.

A friend and I compiled a list of Stoddard County Confederates. We started by alphabetizing the males in the 1860 county census between the ages of 12-60. We then compared that list with various rosters,books, etc.

The History of Cole, Moniteau, etc., has members of the Guard from Moniteau County, of course. They also have the online data base of Confederates with records in their holdings.

A lot of it is hit and miss, quite frankly. We identified over 800 soldiers in our list, and I am certain that we missed some.
