Makes sense to me. Is there any chance of finding the old rock walled cistern to confirm? Article said it was 8 feet diameter and 22 feet deep and still in use until 1880? Some cisterns were shown on the Sanborn maps to be used in case of fire but I never thought to look on the Leasburg map.
