There was a 'Stand of Colors' insert in this past Sunday's "Kansas City Star." The event opens at 9 a.m. on Sat., May 17th, with the first skirmish at 10 a.m. On Sun., May 18th, the event again opens at 9 a.m. and skirmishers will begin fighting for position at that time. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children if you buy them at Price Chopper. They will be $20 for adults and $10 for children if you buy them at the Bannister Mall complex parking lot (E. Bannister Road and I-435). Parking at the Bannister Mall complex and the shuttle to the battlefield (Jerry Smith Park) are free. It says food, beverage and rest rooms are available at the site and that this will be rain or shine - no refunds - no pets - no coolers. (The money raised will benefit the Rotary Youth Camp for children with special needs.)
