Ptolema Philadelphus Brown - GAR

To add another name to the mix, my other GGG grandfather (whose daughter married Green Berry Harris' son and was my GG grandmother) was Ptolema Philadelphus Brown who served with the 1st Arkansas Cavalry (US). I have a picture of P.P. Brown in his old age and he is wearing a GAR badge. I've tried to find what GAR group he belonged to but have been unsuccessful. I thought someone might point me toward a source which my help me find the GAR group. Brown's family came from Tennessee and settled in the southern part of Phelps County and northern Texas County, Missouri before the war. His father was a native Scotsman (Isaac Haire Brown. P.P. Brown joined the 1st Arkansas Cavalry in August of 1862 and served till Auguast of 1865. After the Battle of Prairie Grove, he served as the head cook for the wagonmasters in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Brown finished his years at the Soldier's Home in St. James, Missouri and is buried in the City Cemetery.
