Re: Ptolema Philadelphus Brown - GAR

My great great grandfather was in the 8th MO Infantry Co. E Mitchell's . His name was William Louis Andrews and he was a sergeant. In the 1850 census he lived in Crawford County, he married in 1861 in Dent County to Nancy Plank. William enlisted 8/7/1862 at Thomasville, MO. Unfortunately he died during the war, probably of measles around 10/31/1862. I am interested in finding out more about the men who served with him, where they were from, did they know each other before the war, etc. So the Harris brothers interested me. Where did they live?

I am related to the Ptolema Brown family through my grandmother who was Dollie Dunham from Anutt. Dollie was the granddaughter of William Louis Andrews. There are some interesing names in that Brown family which have always intrigued me. I am interested in knowing more about Green Berry Harris' son who married Ptolema Brown's daughter. Could you tell me what were their names and dates of birth, death, etc.? Do you have any Andrews in your family tree from around Crawford or Dent Counties?

I am also interested in your question about Thomasville, where they were recruited to be Confederates.
