I have no idea whether your ancestor served in the 10th Cavalry Regiment or not. However, the regiment was organized by adding companies to the 11th Cavalry Battalion near Camden, Arkansas in December, 1863. Most members of Company D of the regiment were from Bates, Henry and St. Clair counties, which are across the state from where Missouri borders Tennessee.
