The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Did General R.E. Lee have a murdered brother?

Kirby, thanks for your response, and also to the many other responses I have received, at the other Message Boards, and from fellow researchers, on this matter. It is fairly obvious that General R.E. Lee never ever had a brother, half brother, or any other immediate relative who was killed in Missouri or any of the other border states, though a Missouri web site includes an article, written by a person known for his propensity to assume and make ridiculous claims, about persons in the Civil War. It is a sad statement of our times that, because of the prolific nature of the Internet, many persons are placing spurious data, without even a shred of evidence, online, and there are many others who believe in such false or incorrect data, unfortunately. Yet, with the advent of the Internet, research has become so much easier, but I guess there will always be those who do not wish to indulge in some detective work, before they place their articles online.
