Re: Andrew Jackson "Dick" Kitchen - Bushwacker

Well, I live about 6-8 miles from Evening Shade and I'm a member of the Sharp County Historical Society, but never heard about Kitchen.

I looked in Donald Hale's book, Branded As Rebels Vol II and on page 180 he has Dick Kitchen, bushwhacker with Bill Wilson in the Ozarks. Shortly after the war he was living in Evening Shade, AR when he was killed by a stranger in Ketchen's harness shop. Ref: "Bushwhacker: A Story of Missouri's Most Famous Desperado." by George Clinton Arthur. Rolla Printing Company. Rolla, MO 1938.

I will definitely try to find out about him, he sounds like an interesting person.
