Re: re Civil War deaths at hands of Bushwhacker

Jim:

I've got your Stephen Hill as being born in Maryland in 1807. Married: 11 OCT 1829 in Highland Co., OH to Anna Anderson born 1812 also in Maryland.

Son William Fields HILL (B: 25 DEC 1838 in Ohio , D: 20 JAN 1921 in Union, Cass Co., NE)

Daughter Mahala HILL (B: 15 FEB 1842 in Allen Co., OH, D: 9 JUL 1926 in Creighton, Knox Co., NE, Burial: Lewiston Cem, Cass Co., NE) second marriage in 1866 to John Rakes occured in Nebraska, her first in 1860 to Josephus Thomas

So it appears that the children at least ended up in Cass Co Nebraska. I have not located a reference to either Stephen or Anne Hill in Nebraska inthe 1870 census listings nor in the 1870 Missouri listings.
