I am searching for the regiment which John Baptiste Augustine Monroe McDowell served in. He was living in St. Louis in 1860. He was a member of the GAR after the war but we do not know which regiment he served with during the war. He was born in Galena, IL, in 1837, and died in Seattle, WA, on 2/10/1926.
