BURKE, Patrick E., Colonel, Resident of St Louis, Mo , Mustered Jun 18, 1862. Died of wounds at Resaca, Ga., May 19, 1864. Fox reports his wounding at Rome Crossroads.

Patrick Emmet Burke was a native of Ireland, St. Louis Gen. Society Death Records lists him as below:

Name: Patrick E Burke
Burial Date: 5 Jun 1864
Birth Place: Ireland
Cemetery: Calvary
Death Address Roseca Ga.
Volume: K
Page: 302
Missouri Archive: C 10365
SLGS Rolls: 307

St. Louis Calvary cemetery burials listing shows him buried with his parents in Section 7, lot 80
Internment #163941 BURKE, PATRICK E. male buried Jun 05 1864 age 34

It would appear to me that he was one of the unsung heros of the officer corps that managed to lead effectively, rising to being a Colonel in command of a full brigade, a position he held during some pretty tough fighting.
