Your ancestor lived in Auxvasse where the battle of Moore's Mill was held on July 28, 1862. Maybe he attended the battle. I am looking to know if the ancestor of my wife Dr Larkin Wesley Hunt who lived close to the Auxvasse attended really the Battle as a surgeon. If you know anything about that, please let me know.
