10th Annual Civil War Seminar - Arthur. Ill

The 10th Annual Civil War Conference in Arthur, Ill will be held Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at Yoder's Kitchen Banquet Facility on Hwy. 133, 9 miles west of I-57/Arcola exit.

Speakers for the event include:

Russell Bonds - author of the terrific book on the Great Locomotive Chase, "Stealing The General".

Dr. Glenn LaFantasie - Western KY University and author of the excellent biography on Col. William Oates of the 15th Alabama Infantry. His newest book is, "Gettysburg And It's Perfect Heroes," which is his topic.

Dr. Orville Vernon Burton on the "Age Of Lincoln." He teaches at the University of Illinois and the author of a number of books including his topic for the event

Wesley Millett - Solving The Mysetery Of The Lost Confederate Gold." Based on a book he co-authored titled, "The Rebel And The Rose: James A. Semple, Julia Gardiner Tyler and the Lost Confederate Gold," this program covers what happened to the gold of the Confederacy after it left Richmond in 1865.

The conference is only $50 and includes a fine lunch. This price is good until June 9th - after this it is $60 and space available. There will also be a book dealer, as always, with the latest Civil War books.
