Concerning the naming of the town. In some information I found, I thought the name Charity came first. The founder was a man named Joseph Sharrick. He married a woman named Charity Anglin and he named the town he founded Charity after his wife. I also read that sometime later, he and another man had a dispute and they split the town right down the center and the side that split was named Hog Eye. IS there any truth to this historical account?
