Bryce: BG M. M. Parsons's Missouri Infantry brigade resulted from the 1862 recruiting in Missouri. The brigade eventually included the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 16th Infantry Regiment, the 9th Sharpshooter Battalion, and the 1st and 3rd Field Batteries.

Although no new infantry regiments were organized in 1863-64 (some existing units were reorganized), both Searcy's and Perkins's cavalry regiments, which were recruited during the Price Raid, converted to infantry units once the army made its way back to Arkansas.
