Alsop: Douglas County

I here the family in Douglas County, Missouri are going to erect a monument there for one of their ancestors who I would suspect the yanks weren't very proud of. Being familiar with this type of "history" on the CS side, I can only say if family and friends are proud of a soldiers actions, they should be free to speak & act accordingly, just don't belittle those that might not agree. Passions & time have made it almost impossible for any of us to get an accurate profile of a man going into a war, much less a profile of him after he has been exposed to the viciousness of combat. Not one amoung us can say just how "WE" would react or survive that war under the same situation. If I ever hit the "Lotto" I plan on building a large monument in honor of Bill Anderson and don't give a "xoxoxox" who likes it or not.....I'm sure I'll hear about it from those that disagree with my interpertaion of events during that time. The question is; will those that disagree, give you the same respect of a right to your opionion, as you give them????
Isn't that what got us into that war in the first place?
