Knight's in the Confederate Army from Mo.
In Response To: yankee sword ()

David, did any of your Knight family live in Chariton, Howard, Randolph or Macon County during the Civil War? I have been searching for a person with the last name Knight that married my GG Grandmother, Sarah E. Cooley. We have seen information listing Sarah Cooley as a Cpt. with Price's Army but unable to confirm. Three members of her family did serve. The Knight husband is said to have been killed by bushwhackers, sometime in the 1860's. There were two children from this marriage. We cannot find any census or marriage records on the Knight-Cooley marriage. I keep hoping someday I will find someone or a record somewhere that will give me details of this murder and information on the marriage. Sarah married George W. Heifner in 1868 and lived in Macon and Randolph County, Mo.
