Re: Lt-Colonel Chaplin Good's Texas Cavalry

Parents were John A. Good and Mary C. Chapline. John A is found in both the 1830 and 1840 census listings for Ohio Co, Virginia. They located to Missouri in the 1840's being found in the 1850 census in Bowling Green, Pike Co., Missouri with son Chaplin listed. Chapline is listed again in 1860 in Tebo Twsp, Henry Co, MO.

Interesting bit of family history can be gleaned from Old churches and Ministers of Virginia Vol 2. Article LXXVII relating to the first Episcopal Church of Wheeling. Mary Chapline's father, Josiah, and John Good and his father, W. T. Good, were all founders and part of the initial vestry appointed in 1821.
