"Pamdexter", "Poindexter"??

I am transcribing the CMSR for a Joseph B. Wigginton from Boone Co. MO who enlisted in the 1st NE Regt MO Cavalry for a few weeks and then "grew tired of the rebellion". He went home, turned himself in to Union authorities and then he and his family/friends spent the next several months trying to get him out of prison at St. Louis and Alton. On one of his papers, there is his name with "pamdexter" or something like that in quotes followed by "General ??? (looks like it ends in "ll's") orders". Can anyone explain the meaning behind this paper? There was a guerilla by the name of "Poindexter" that I came across but I haven't found a tie between the two, yet. Wigginton was with Porter's regiment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
