The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

West Point Archives Research Visit

I will be flying to New York this coming Wednesday and will spend Thursday at West Point at their Archives Department.

My main interest is in obtaining CW era Cadet personnel records for a number of men of interest.

Previously, I have obtained the records of a cadet who entered with the class of 1864, but was dropped in January 1861 "Deficient in Mathematics." These records showed his appointment papers as well as his Record of Delinquencies, some 20 in a period of 4 months, the last being "Out of Bed at Taps." He later was appointed a Cadet in the 43rd Tennessee, CSA, and originally served as it' s Drill Master.

Hopefully, I'll find other areas of interest. I may also visit their cemetery
