In Response To: John Hutchison, Mo.46 Inf.Co.I ()

Thanks to Mr. Russell, Mr. Martin and HRF for your quick responses. To see my great grandfather's service card "for the first time" deeply touched me. To read about the special dedication service at the cemetery really brought many warm memories back. Even though I was 5 years old when he died. I still remember the solders firing the 21 gun salute and me jumping about two feet into the air! He used to trip me with the crook of his cane and play games with me. Oh, how I wish that I could have a conversation with him now. I hope to travel back to Missouri and walk some of that ground again. My parents, Lon and Olive Hamby Chandler were born in the Ava, Missouri area. My dad's mother was Gertrude Hutchison and she married Dee Chandler. My mother's mom was Sarah Spurlock and she married Alonzo Hamby. There is some Cherokee Native American in there some where. Any additional infomation/stories etc. are deeply appreciated. God bless you all.
