William Jordan Newsom,"Uncle Billy" born 11/8/1839 in Wayne County, NC, died 10/7/1928 in Carroll County, MO William is the son of Simon Newsom and Patience Elizabeth Best. Simon is the son of Joab Newsom, brother of my great great great-grandfather, Joseph Newsom. Joab and Joseph are the sons of William Newsom and Mary Jordan. Joab married Elizabeth Barnes, Joseph married, as his 1st wife, Elizabeth's sister,
Christian Barnes. I have the Newsom history back to 1400's England, the Jordans back to 1620's Jamestown, VA. The Jordans tie into the Tooke family which runs back to the Norman Conquest, and to many of the signers of the Magna Carta. Feel free to contact me.
