Kirby: Thanks for the additional information. Based on that, I will venture a guess and say that the actual name of the company is the "Waverly Scouts" rather than "Wamly." Shelby resided in Waverly in Lafayette County prior to the war. That would seem to be more appropo for a company organized in that area.
