It takes place the first weekend in December every even numbered year. It can be a great event like 4 years ago when a lot of reenactors showed up. They always have a lot of sutler's and plenty to do beyond the battles. The only downfall of the event is sometimes the weather is bad for that weekend. Two years ago it was freezing and not many reenactors showed up. This weekend is supposed to be warm and the crowds are always big and it should be this time as well.
