I posted a message a couple of days ago concerning Camden County and the Kinder family. In looking through my notes, I see that I had at least three gggg uncles, and some of their cousins, in the 56th Regiment, Enrolled Missouri Militia. Several of these men had previously been in Confederate units, especially the 8th Missouri Cavalry (CSA).

I am interested in any history of this militia regiment, such as the counties from which it was raised, any actions in which it participated, armament, or any other interesting facts. Also, what was the "Enrolled Missouri Militia" in general.
